Ages 7–9
Young Explorers
For children 7–9 who are beginning or building their English. Every week uses a real-world theme — nature, stories, community, culture — to make language learning feel like play. Your child will make things, go places, and use English all day without it ever feeling like a lesson.

Week 1 · Jul 6–10 · Both locations
What makes a neighbourhood work? Campers explore community helpers, local landmarks, and traditions — learning the English to describe, ask, and explain the world around them.
- Walking tour of the local neighbourhood
- Field trip to a community location
- Design your ideal community — present it to the class
Nature Explorers
Weeks 2 & 7 · Jul 13–17, Aug 17–21 · Both locations
From urban parks to coastal forests, campers discover Vancouver’s natural world while building the vocabulary to describe, compare, and share what they find.
- Forest hike and nature scavenger hunt
- Nature crafts and field journals
- Stories and songs about local plants and animals
Story World
Week 3 · Jul 20–24 · Both locations
Fairy tales, fantasy, superheroes, myths — every day is a new genre. Campers read, act, write, and perform their way through English storytelling from around the world.
- Act out classic stories and invent new ones
- Build fantasy worlds with descriptive language
- Puppet show performance on Friday
It’s A Small World
Week 4 · Jul 27–31 · Both locations
“Travel” to Mexico, India, Japan, China, and Germany — without leaving Vancouver. Campers cook, craft, play, and present their way around the globe.
- Cook and taste food from five countries
- International games and cultural crafts
- Share your own culture with the group
Transportation
Week 5 · Aug 4–7 · Both locations
Buses, ferries, seaplanes, SkyTrains — how does Vancouver move? Campers explore the city’s transport networks, design their own future vehicles, and practise navigating the city.
- Navigate a real Vancouver transit route
- Visit a waterfront to see boats and ferries
- Design and present a “Future Transport” invention
Ages 10–12
Discovery Camps
For children 10–12 who want to use English to actually do and discover things. Themes are more investigative and project-driven — campers build prototypes, explore ecosystems, visit city landmarks, and present their work.

My Vancouver
Weeks 1 & 7 · Jul 6–10, Aug 17–21 · Both locations
Vancouver’s geography, Indigenous heritage, urban life, food scene, and arts — all explored through the city itself. Campers become tour guides, journalists, and food critics.
- Video tour guide project — film your own Vancouver highlight
- Culinary diversity: hands-on cooking + food presentation
- Mural walk in Mount Pleasant — create your own public art response
Invention Lab
Week 2 · Jul 13–17 · Both locations
Spot a real problem, design a solution, build a prototype, and pitch it at the Invention Fair. Campers learn the English of engineering — describe, compare, persuade, and present.
- Design a blueprint and build a working prototype
- Feedback carousel — give and receive structured peer critique
- Invention Fair: pitch your creation to peers and instructors
Animal Planet
Week 3 · Jul 20–24 · Both locations
Vancouver’s marine life, coastal rainforest, urban wildlife, and endangered species — explored through field trips, field journals, and conservation projects.
- Vancouver Aquarium or local beach marine exploration
- Birdwatching at Hinge Park wetlands, Olympic Village
- Design a conservation project for a BC endangered species
Sports & Hobbies
Week 4 · Jul 27–31 · Both locations
Soccer, basketball, swimming, painting, hiking — campers explore a different sport or hobby each day, learning the specific English they need to participate and describe.
- Field trip to BC Sports Hall of Fame
- Creative hobbies day — art, music, making
- Hobby Showcase — present your week’s favourite activity
Ages 13–15
Teen Intensives
For teenagers 13–15 who want to move beyond basic English into the kind of confident, academic communication that works in high school and university. Themes are challenging and contemporary. Your teenager will leave with vocabulary, fluency, and the confidence to use both.

Acting Studios
Week 1 · Jul 6–10 · Kitsilano & Deer Lake
Drama games, scriptwriting, character development, and a final performance. Acting is one of the most effective ways to build spoken English fluency — it removes the fear of making mistakes.
- Drama games to build confidence speaking English
- Write and rehearse original scenes with a partner
- Performance Day — present to peers on Friday
Global Issues & Debates
Week 2 · Jul 13–17 · Kitsilano & Deer Lake
Climate change, technology, social justice, human rights — campers explore global topics through structured debate, discussion, and field visits. Academic English at its most relevant.
- Learn formal debate structure: statement, cross-examination, rebuttal
- Field visit to a local community organisation
- Final debate tournament — choose your topic, make your case
Media & Pop Culture
Week 3 · Jul 20–24 · Kitsilano & Deer Lake
Movies, music, advertising, social media — campers analyse the media they already consume and then create their own. Persuasive English, media literacy, and confidence presenting.
- Deconstruct an ad campaign — spot the persuasion techniques
- Design and pitch your own brand to the class
- Produce a short news report or digital media project
Urban Design
Week 4 · Jul 27–31 · Kitsilano & Deer Lake
Architecture, sustainability, transit, community planning — Vancouver is one of the world’s most thoughtfully designed cities. Campers explore it as a living case study.
- Walking tour — read the city’s design decisions out loud
- Green spaces and sustainability: visit a local park
- Design Charrette — present your ideal city to the group
